Professional Projects in Sectors Such As Food Security Are Experiencing A Significant Surge.

Food security, encompassing the entire industrial chain from production to processing, logistics, sales, and consumption, serves as the bedrock of national security. The 20th report emphasized that food security is not only a national priority but also a crucial foundation for ensuring overall national security. Currently, China is enjoying its most favorable period in terms of food security; however, the escalating risks and uncertainties within the global food industry chain and supply chain have underscored the increasing significance of maintaining robust food security measures. It is anticipated that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, food security will assume an even more prominent strategic role in driving national economic development. Consequently, industries related to ensuring food security deserve substantial attention and support.

Prior to the era of reform and opening up, China faced challenges primarily due to a stark disparity between people's survival needs and severe shortages in food supply. However, after embarking on reforms and opening up policies, fluctuations in supply and demand became the main factors influencing food security considerations. As a result, policy focus shifted from agricultural production alone towards market demands and commodity circulation while emphasizing collaboration between major producing regions and distribution areas. Since 2008 onwards, efforts aimed at safeguarding food security have extended their reach all the way to consumers themselves; thus expanding upon our understanding of national-level implications surrounding this issue throughout every stage of the industrial chain spanning production through processing logistics right down to sales and consumption activities.

The "Six Major Upgrading Actions" plan drives a new round of granary construction cycle. According to the data of the White paper "China's Food Security", in 2018, the effective grain storage capacity of the country was 910 million tons, of which the standard warehouse capacity was 670 million tons, and the simple warehouse capacity was 240 million tons, and the total effective storage capacity increased by 31.9% compared with 1996.
